Babies… is there anything more wonderful than a newborn baby? I love to celebrate new babies by making a gift for the baby and family. There are so many great things that you can sew for babies and I’m sharing my tutorials for 14 baby gifts to sew with you all today.
Bibs
This is a revised version of my original baby bib. Basically the same shape but a little bigger. This is my absolute favorite of all the baby gifts to sew.
Change things up by using two coordinating fabrics to make this bib.
It’s so simple to add a fun little pop of color to any bib with a fabric flower.
Bandana bibs offer a fun new shape.
Ruffles add some interest to a basic baby bib.
Burp Cloths
Add a fun accent to some basic burp cloths with some pom pom trim.
Curves enable this burp cloth to sit nicely on your shoulder.
This hybrid between a rectangular and contoured bib is the best of both worlds.
Other Gifts
Hooded Baby Towel & Washcloth Set
Hooded towels make bath time easier.
This is a fun way to use up all those cute scraps from other projects.
This soft, cuddly blanket can be made super quickly.
Unfold this scarf for a super cute nursing cover.
You can easily organize your diaper bag with a little clutch to store your diapering essentials.
What baby girl wouldn’t look adorable in this little dress?
The great thing about all these tutorials is that most of them require only a little bit of fabric (other than the blankets). Most of these projects also are fairly quick to sew up. What I love about all of these projects is that you get to pick out fabrics that are perfect for the style of the mama-to-be or the baby’s nursery.
What gifts do you like to make to celebrate the arrival of a new baby? Have you tried any of these projects before? Let me know in the comments below!
