Fall Sewing Projects [10 Cozy Tutorials]

Fall is almost here!  The weather has shifted a little here in Ohio and I am ready for those cooler days and cozy nights.  Today I’ve got some great fall sewing projects for you that are perfect for the fall weather.

[one] The Cozy Cowl

This is a super simple project that’s perfect for all those cute knits in fall colors.  I love this one that I made from this pretty polka dot yellow fabric.  I don’t wear a ton of yellow but I love this particular mustard-y hue of yellow.

I love to throw on a poncho in the fall.  This may also be the easiest of all of these fall sewing projects, so be sure to give it a try!  I think I’m going to make one of a thicker sweater knit this year or maybe even a plaid flannel.

I have a half dozen or so of these and I love them.  I like to walk and run outside in the fall and a lot of times I prefer to throw on one of these earwarmers and put my hair up so that it’s off of my neck.

[four] Flannel Pillowcase with Ties

In an effort to make our bedroom more cozy I made these pillowcases a couple of years ago and I still love pulling them out every fall and keep using them until winter is done.

[five] Pajama Lounge Pants

Confession time- I love my pajamas.  A LOT.  My husband makes fun of me because in the fall and winter I typically come home from being out and I almost immediately change into sweats or pajama pants.  I have passed my love of pjs down to my boys and I made them some pj/lounge pants that are perfect for lazy fall Saturdays watching college football.

[six] Infinity Scarf

Fall is great because it’s a mixture of warmer and cooler temperatures so you really can use everything from light to heavy scarves.  You can use this infinity scarf tutorial to sew one up from either a light fabric in the picture or from a heavier material like a flannel or fleece.

[seven] Infinity Scarf (No-Sew)

Sometimes you feel like sewing, sometimes you don’t.  You can use this no-sew method to make an infinity scarf too.

[eight] Fleece Blanket (No-Sew)

While we are on a no-sew kick these no-sew fleece throws are so so easy to make.  You can make a small one like in the tutorial (I made it for my son) or a big one for an adult.  They just pulled out all the new fleeces at Joanne’s and there are some really nice fleeces out there now.no sew fleece blanket

[nine] Fleece-Cotton Blanket

I made this Super Friends Squares blanket for my younger son.  I love being able to combine a cute cotton print fabric with fleece to make a nice, warm blanket without having to fool with a layer of batting and it’s great having that one side be soft and fuzzy.

[ten] Dog Bandana

For some reason we really love dressing our dog up with Ohio State gear.  Make a cute bandana for your dog to support your favorite football team this season.dog bandana

I love all of these ideas- especially the dog bandanas and the slipcovers for the pillows. I like that instead of having to buy all new pillows! Great money and space saver :)

YES! I see the price of pillows and I love that I can make new covers for so much less.
