Cricut Earrings You Can Make in Minutes

I am still so, so smitten with my Cricut Maker. This past weekend I got to play with it some more and I made some earrings. Today I’m going to show you how to make Cricut earrings in just a few minutes.

Cricut Earrings Tutorial- Follow this tutorial to make the earrings from basswood using your Cricut Maker.

I made my earrings using basswood and I love the natural look. To make the earrings from basswood you will need to have the Cricut Knife blade and the Cricut Strong Grip Mat. If you want to you could use this file to make this same shape earring from a different material like leather.

Supplies Needed to Make Cricut Earrings

Cut Out The Earrings

Click on My Cricut Earrings Project File to open up the project file in Cricut Design Space. Then click on the “Make” button.

Cricut Design Space will then show you the project on the mat. Adjust the material size if you need to. I used an 11 in X 11 in piece of basswood so I adjusted to that size.

If you are cutting into a new piece of basswood then you won’t need to move the earrings BUT if you are using a scrap or a piece you’ve already cut in to for other projects then this is the screen where you will be able to move the earrings on the mat. Use the grid to figure out where to move them.

Also, if you want to make more than one pair or earrings then you can adjust the number where it says “Project Copies” and then hit apply.

Once you click on the “Continue” button Design Space will connect to your machine and you will be prompted to select your material. I used the Cricut Basswood Sheets. Select whatever material you are using.

Tape your basswood (or other material if you’re using something different) down to the mat. For basswood you will use the Strong Grip Mat.

You will also need to load the knife blade into the the Cricut. If this is your first using the knife blade then you will need to follow the instructions to calibrate the knife blade with a sheet of paper BEFORE you have it cut out your project.

Follow the prompts to load your mat and click the button to create.

Stain or Paint the Earrings

Once your earrings are cut out carefully remove the earrings from the mat.

You may want to take a little sand paper and smooth around the outside of the circle.

Use the stain marker to stain them on the front, sides, and back. If you prefer you could paint them instead but I love the wood look. Allow the stain to dry between doing the front, back, and sides.

Attach the Jump Rings and Earring Hooks

Once the earrings are all dry and aired out a little you will use the pliers to attach the jump rings and earring hooks to them.
