Hello! As you read in last week’s Healthy Mama post I am working on getting my butt in gear again (hence the 2.0). This week was a little abnormal in that this past weekend I was at a blog conference and we all know how travel can affect one’s diet and exercise routine. So how did I do?
I’d give myself a C. I made a few small adjustments in the right direction but I wasn’t completely all-in. Let’s take a look at my goals I mentioned last week:
Weight loss goals- I lost 2.0 pounds this week! A loss is always a win in my book. Here’s where I now stand on my weight loss goals-
- Get to a healthy BMI (25 pounds to go)
- Get to my pre-pregnancy weight (28 pounds to go)
- Get to my pre-marriage weight (33 pounds to go)
- Total Weight Loss Goal {Get back to my ideal weight} (43 pounds to go)
Nutrition and Fitness goals- I did ok. Diet was a little less than stellar particularly when traveling.
- Eat consciously (I did a good job with portions in general, but I indulged some while traveling)
- Get in some walking every day (I actually did a lot of walking while I was gone this weekend!)
- Workout 4 times per week (I did not work out other than walking. Fail)
Going into this week I’m hoping to have a really strong week. I stocked up on some healthy options for food and I’m trying to make sure I drink tons of water. I am also continuing to walk while adding in some more intense workouts like 30 Day Shred, which I borrowed from the library. I’ve gotten it before but I’ve only ever made it a few days into the program so I’m hoping to do better this time. In the past I have done well when doing an interval workout like this so I think it will be good for me if I can stick to it. I’ll definitely let you know next week if I am sticking to it.
Oh and in other news I started taking a probiotic! I’m trying to take good care of myself overall so making sure I take my vitamin and probiotic is now a priority for me. I’m hoping to make it a habit so it becomes automatic.
So how are you doing? Anything you’re working on health-wise right now? What helps you take care of yourself? Let me know in the comments below!

It sounds like you did fabulous while traveling. 2 lbs lost shows something went right :). I had most of my food prepped ahead last week, so I just threw the pre-portioned containers in a cooler bag and took them with me. That worked great until Saturday, when the convention provided food for us. Then I chose the eggs, fruit, bacon and a few diced potatoes, but left the pastries alone. At lunch I had chicken and veggie pasta with side salad, and left the chips and cookies alone. Then for dinner I had a dairy free steak salad at chipotle without dressing. This kept me on target for my protein and calorie goals for the day while still feeling like I could be part of the group. I didn't weight this week, but my clothes are fitting better and I'm hoping for more pounds lost when I step on the scale next Monday.

Sounds like you did really well this past weekend! I had a few treats (a Coke, a pretzel) but I think walking around the park each day helped offset things a little. That chicken on Saturday was crazy good!
