Healthy Mama 2.0 [Week 23]

Hello there.  It’s been a while since I blogged about my efforts to be healthier but I have been very slowly working on it so I figured it’s time for an update!

Here’s where I stand since beginning to work on this at the beginning of the year:

Since January 2nd I have lost 12.6 pounds.

Honestly, for a little over five months that’s not a lot of weight. BUT it is movement in the right direction.  I just need to keep going.  February and March were rough in terms of sickness in our house so I didn’t make a ton of progress then but since April I’ve been able to get into a better routine.

Things that are working for me right now:

  • Food journaling- I have actually started keeping track of my calorie intake on my Fitbit app.  I used to just write it all down but I’m loving the convenience of being able to look up calories of food items in the app.  I have always done well when I food journal and I take the time to be more conscious of portions, so I’m glad I’ve really been able to do well with that, especially the past few weeks.
  • Walking- I recently started walking more but now instead of having one walk a day I have two.  I split it up into a walk in the morning and a walk after dinner.  I love using my FitBit to track all my steps because it challenges me to do more.
  • Tabata & Pilates- A couple times a week I do tabata or pilates to help with toning and strength.  I love both of these so much.

Where am I on my overall goals?

  • Get to a healthy BMI (18.6 pounds to go)
  • Get to my pre-pregnancy weight (20.6 pounds to go)
  • Get to my pre-marriage weight (25.6 pounds to go)
  • Total Weight Loss Goal {Get back to my ideal weight} (35.6 pounds to go)

I love doing walking and Pilates. Having my dogs has encouraged me to get out more! Congrats on your weight loss so far!!! It is always harder to be healthy but so rewarding!! Props to you with your determination!!
