Easter Preschool Pack of Printables

Easter is coming soon!  Yes, it is.  This is one of those years when Easter is in March and not April so it feels like it has snuck up on me kind of quickly.  Be that as it may I am excited to share Easter with my little ones again this year.  First and foremost to me is sharing the Easter story with them.  To help them learn about Easter I came up with an Easter preschool pack with some printable activities that I’m sharing with you all.

The Easter Story Preschool Pack Cover

The printable pack is geared toward preschoolers and features activities to help them learn the story of Easter as well as work on some basic preschool skills such as letter recognition and formation, cutting, fine motor skills practice with using clothes pins, counting, patterns, and more.

You can get the pdf of the Easter Preschool Pack here.  (Update: there is a typo on the Sequencing page- get the corrected page here.  Sorry!)

Here’s a bit about each activity:

  • Story Sequencing-  I love using a sequencing activity to help review the story.  This is also a good opportunity to practice cutting and pasting.  If your children are too young to do it themselves you can help them with cutting out the pictures.

  • Pre-writing Tracing– These are great for fine motor practice.  This is one that you can laminate and use dry erase markers to do these multiple times.  Alternately sometimes I simply slide the printable into a page protectors and that works too.  If you don’t want to laminate you can spice things up by having your child the tracing with paint and a paintbrush, finger paint, markers, glitter glue, etc.  Try changing things up to avoid monotony.

  • Word Puzzles- Cut out the pieces and have your child put them together.  I usually print these onto cardstock and it works well for us.

Easter Story Word Puzzles

  • Letter Formation Practice- Practice with the letters R and T.

T is for tomb worksheet

  • Number Practice- Practice with the number 3.

  • Snipping & Cutting- If you’ve got a younger preschooler then you will want to begin with the snipping sheet first and then move on from there when your child is ready.  Also be sure to get some kid sized safety scissors.  We currently use these safety scissors but when my son was younger we started him with these.

Easter Snipping Worksheet

  • Counting Practice- Have your child practice counting.  If you don’t have any clothes pins on hand you would have your child circle the correct number on each one.

Easter Counting Practice Sheet

  • Pattern Practice- Complete the patterns.

  • Key Verse- Many, many verses would be perfect to learn at Easter time.  I landed on I Corinthians 15:3-4 because it sums up the Easter story and is simple enough for young children to memorize.

If you’re looking for a good Bible for your child I highly recommend the Read with Me Bible for Toddlers for kids that are 2-3 and The Jesus Storybook Bible for 4-5 year olds.  We use both with our children and absolutely adore them.  Both relate Bible stories in a way that our children enjoy and are perfect lengths for their attention spans.

Some other books that help reinforce the Biblical Easter story are God Gave Us Easter,  Mary’s Easter Story, and Benjamin’s Box: The Story of the Resurrection Eggs.  All three are fantastic, but God Gave Us Easter is my favorite.

Does your family have any favorite Easter books or activities?  Our kids are still pretty young so we are still developing our family traditions and I love to hear what other families do to celebrate.
