Whole House Organization & De-Cluttering Checklist

Ya'll.  Our house is a mess.  I try to keep it clean but lately I have been feeling like I'm drowning in all the clutter.  All the piles, piles, piles.  And don't even get me started on the overstuffed drawers.

It's time to crack the whip on myself and hop to it.  And to stop using idioms.

To help myself get going on this whole process of organizing and purging I made myself a list.  Because I am nothing if not Type-A and a list really does help me get things done.

Whole House Organization & Declutter Check ListI'm sharing it with you because maybe it will help you too.  I made it to be somewhat flexible so that it could fit a variety of homes.  For example, I have 3 bathrooms in my home so I wrote bath #3 in as one of my "other" rooms.

I'm going to work on this for the next few weeks.  Maybe we can be organizing friends?  You can get the pdf of the Organization Checklist here.

Anyone else out there feeling the urge to purge?

  1. This is a really helpful checklist! I really need to tackle my basement, so thank-you for sharing!

    1. You're very welcome. I'll be tackling our basement too in the coming days. Good luck with yours! 🙂

  2. When I click on the link it takes me to a blog post on sewing? Is anyone else having the same issue? Looks like a great printable that I would love to use.

  3. Thanks so much, Beth. I'm trying to get rid of all of the STUFF that I never use. Your checklist is just what I needed to get me going. I might just get to one item in one area a day, but that's better than nothing.

    1. You're welcome! I'm tackling the list bit by bit too. With kids I'm hardly ever able to get a whole room done in a day so I'm just checking off a few things each day. Good luck!

  4. Thank you for sharing your great idea. This is the type of cleaning I struggle to get done. Manically doing the whole list right before Christmas company is not my idea of fun... especially multiplied by twenty odd years! This list has become a treasured possession.
