Lucky is the extra bit of joy in our family. He is extremely sweet and gentle with our boys. He is a Poodle/ Cavalier King Charles Spaniel mix and he’s the fluffiest and snuggliest dog you will ever meet. I grew up with dogs and I’m excited that my sons get to have that experience as well.
Lucky loves to snuggle but his second favorite thing is our morning walks. As soon as he hears the jingle of the leash he comes running over to me. Today I’m sharing a tutorial for how to make a dog supply organization station.
I’ve been wanting to organize his things for some time so I made a little storage unit that would feature a hooks for the leashes and collars, space for a dog food, and bags I can easily grab for walks.
Here’s how I made it:
Step 1: Cut a board to the size you want. I found a scrap piece in my father-in-law’s garage that he didn’t need that was already cut to 11.5 X 21.5 inches and seemed like a good size.
Step 2: Finish your board how you’d like (paint, stain, etc). I wanted a rustic, weathered look so I began by sanding the edges to make them a little more round and sanding the board down some.
Then I sprayed a light coat of white paint onto the board.
I sanded it again to take away a lot of the paint. The fun part of this step was I was trying to make it uneven for a more random look, so no worries about sanding it evenly.
Next I applied some dark brown stain all over (top and sides). I let the stain sit for one minute then wiped it all off.
Step 3: Drill the holes for the knobs and screw them on. I’d recommend using knobs that are a little bit bigger so that they can hold your leashes and collars.
Step 4: Lay your baskets on the board to figure out where you want to install them. Then use screws to attach the back of the basket to the board.
Step 5: Hang the organizer on the wall. I chose to use adhesive mounting strips but you easily attach picture hanging hardware.
I love having everything I need for the dog in one area, including his food.
Recently while at Walmart I picked up the new Beneful IncrediBites with Real Beef.
The number one ingredient in the newly reformulated recipe is meat and there is no sugar added. The new Beneful recipes were created with feedback from pet owners and after 2 years of research. They have the same taste and texture that dogs are familiar with and love.
I got mine at Walmart but Beneful is available at many mass and grocery retailers including Target, Walmart and regional grocers like Kroger and Albertsons.

Please remember that when changing a dog’s food you should do so gradually. Even though you currently feed your dog Beneful, you’ll want to transition to the new Beneful recipe as you would for a new type of food. Be sure to check out these helpful feeding tips for transitioning.

Organizing your pet's food and items can be tricky. We've certainly had enough balls and leashes go missing. I think this is a great solution! #client
