Healthy Mama 2018 Week #2

Good morning!  Just checking in with my results first week of working on getting into shape, losing weight, and establishing some healthy eating habits this week.  If you wanna catch up on last week you can check out this post about my starting point for the year.  So, how did I do?  Let’s look at the numbers first:

Weight lost this week: 5.2 pounds

Where does that leave me on my goals?

  • Get to a healthy BMI (26 pounds to go)
  • Get to my pre-pregnancy weight (28 pounds to go)
  • Get to my pre-marriage weight (33 pounds to go)
  • Total Weight Loss Goal {Get back to my ideal weight} (43 pounds to go)

How did I do on my eating and fitness goals?

  • Eat consciously (I counted the cost of everything that went into my mouth, made balanced meals, and was on point with this)
  • Get in some walking every day (I hit my step goal 6/7 days.  I was feeling really tired yesterday and the kids had another snow day so I let it go.)
  • Workout 4 times per week  (I went back to Tabata last week and it was rough… but I’m headed back this week and I’m continuing to walk in between)

Overall, I’m please with my progress this week.  It’s the first week, so obviously some weight loss was water weight and I expect the numbers will go down this week.  I need to just keep going, stringing together more good days.

Eating-wise I have cut out complex carbohydrates (dessert, bread, pasta) and I am basically focusing on eating lean proteins, veggies, and a little fruit.  I was really bummed this week with all the news about Romaine lettuce and initially worried I might get sick too since I had eaten it the first 5 days of the New Year.  Thankfully I’m not sick but it’s my favorite lettuce so I’m still a little bummed to have to avoid it for a while.

So, working on any health or fitness goals?  Let me know how you’re doing in the comments below!
