My Biggest Disney World Money Saving Tip

We love Disney World.  Who doesn’t, right?  But let’s face it, the most magical place in the world is one of the most expensive places in the world.  Clearly I think it’s worth it since we go but we look to save some money where we can.  And today I’m sharing with you my biggest Disney World money saving tip that saved us about $180 by doing one simple trick…

We bought Disney gift cards at Sam’s Club.  So here’s the deal…

You can pay for your Disney vacation with gift cards.  Sam’s Club offers Disney gift cards at a reduced rate.  From what I’ve read the price sometimes fluctuates.  When we bought ours they were selling $500 gift cards for something like $479.98.  So for every $500 gift card you buy you are saving about $20.

Let’s say you’re paying for a $3000 trip.  You buy 6 of the $500 gift cards and then you’d save $120 on your trip with very little effort.  Of course, you have to be a member of Sam’s Club to buy these from them but I also heard that BJ’s offers discounted gift cards and you do not have to be a member to shop there.

The great thing about this little money saving tip is that you can use it on a trip any time of the year.  We went this past year during Christmas break and there are no discounts offered at that time because it’s peak season.  Even if you are going some time when Disney is offering a discount you can still use this tip to save even more money.

Alright, so let’s hear it… any one else have a great Disney World money saving tip?  Please leave your tips in the comments below!  I want to hear all of them!

Also, be sure to check in over the next few weeks as I share more about our latest Disney World trip.  I learn more each time we go and I know it’s overwhelming to many first-timers (it was to me!) and so I like to pass helpful insights along.
