I got a new Bible at Christmas and now that I’ve had a few months with it I thought I’d share a full post sharing some details about the Bible that I love right now.

While walking through Hobby Lobby one day I saw The Beautiful Word Coloring Bible. After leafing through it I decided to put it on my Christmas list and I got it!

How I Use My Coloring Bible
I read my Bible in the morning. After reading a section of passages I typically work on coloring on one of the pages that has a verse to color. As I color I read the verse I am coloring over a few times and meditate on it. If I want to color a little longer then I keep coloring some while I pray.

A Peek Inside
My Beautiful Word Bible is the NIV version. On most pages there is lined space in the margins for taking notes or Bible journaling.

Some pages have a graphic of a Bible verse to color beside the Bible verses instead of the lines.

Other pages feature a Bible verse to color that takes up the entire page.

What I Use to Write in It
I’m a bit odd in that I don’t like writing with pencil. However, I knew that if I tried to color or write in my Bible with pen then it would bleed through the pages. Based on someone else’s recommendation I decided to try the Crayola Twistables and I love them!

Honestly, I do wish I could use pen but these are much smoother than colored pencil and I don’t mind them at all like I would a pencil. They are a little too fat for some of the finer details of some of the drawings but overall they work well.
If I have any complaint about the Beautiful Word Bible it’s that the pages are a bit thinner than I would like. I understand that this helps keep the cost and the weight of the Bible down but it would be nice to have thicker pages. In the picture below you can see where I colored on the other side of this page and it shows through a little bit.

Overall, I love using this Bible and I highly recommend it if you are looking to get into Bible coloring or journaling or just want to try something a little different during your quiet time.
