I love the first psalm. The imagery of the tree planted by the streams of water always draws me in. I want my life to be like that tree to yield fruit and prosper. When others look at me, I want them to see the beauty of that and to be drawn to it, just as I am to the psalm. So how do I do this? According to the psalmist, I need to avoid the counsel of the wicked and more importantly to meditate on God’s word… day and night.
I have been working on spending more time in the Bible and I’m making it a priority to spend time reading every morning before my kids get up. Even thought this means that I get out of bed before 5:30 in the morning, it’s a blessing… and it makes me a better wife and mama too 🙂
If you’d like to join along in reading through the Bible in 3 years you can find the schedule over at Women Living Well. We’re doing one chapter a day. Totally feasible!
I hope you all have a great day! I’ll be back next week to share my thought’s on the week’s readings.
