printable visual schedule morning routine

School-day mornings can be hectic.  There’s so much to do with getting everyone fed a good breakfast, dressed, and making sure everyone has all their things for school.  We began school recently and I have been working with my son on making a routine.

One thing that we have found helpful to use in our home is a visual schedule.  I made up a printable schedule that I’m sharing with you this morning.  This schedule helps him to see what tasks he needs to complete and he enjoys being able to check items off of his list.

You can laminate it or slip it into a page protector and use a dry erase marker to check items off the list.

This helps us to have less stressful mornings because my older son can complete some tasks independently and stay on track by referring to his schedule while I can help my younger son get dressed or focus on packing his lunch.

I feel like a good breakfast is an important part of starting the day off on the right foot and that’s why I am proud to share this morning about The Great American Milk Drive.

You may know that many Americans (nearly 46 million!) rely on Feeding America food banks but what you may not know is that milk is one of the least-donated items at food banks.

Food banks are only able to provide the equivalent of less than one gallon of milk per person per year, which is unfortunate, especially for children.

milk

Milk is rich in nutrients that are important for growing children.  It has 9 essential nutrients and 8 grams of protein per 8 ounce serving.  Childhood should be filled with playing, learning and growing. But for many children who face hunger, even basic staples like milk – and the nutrients that help power childhood activities – are missing.

You can join with Feeding America in The Great American Milk drive and help provide milk to children and families who need it. You can donate online at The Great American Milk Drive.

You can also help while building a better breakfast for your own family. Recently while shopping at Walmart I picked up a gallon of Great Value milk, Del Monte Fruit & Veggie Fusions, and Lender’s Bagels.

The combo of these three give kids protein, carbohydrates, vitamin C and other nutrients in a breakfast that is simple and easy to put together. And right now by purchasing 1 or more of these products at Walmart you can help Feeding America provide nutrient- rich milk to kids and families in need.

So far more that 14 million servings of milk have been delivered to food banks through this initiative.  Find out more about how you can help at The Great American Milk Drive website.
