So things have been rather busy around here but my husband and I have squeezed in a little bit of time to work on the house. When I came home from my trip to Virginia he surprised me with a freshly painted front door and trim. The door was hunter green before and now is a crisp white.
We still need to replace the weatherstripping around the door, so try to ignore the splotches of paint on the old weatherstripping. It’s next on our list. I also took the opportunity to make a new wreath. I dug some warm fall colored fabrics out of my scrap pile and threw it together one night while watching tv.
For very little investment (some paint, a straw wreath form, and some fabric scraps) I’m really enjoying our door’s new look. And I know, it’s a little early to be busting out the fall decor, but as busy as we’ve been I didn’t want to try to come up with a summer wreath then turn around in a month and have to make a new fall one. So I’m actually on top of things and ahead of the game! At least in one tiny area of my life…

Thanks! I love making them too, except when I get the hot glue on my fingers.
