Life has been a bit crazy lately so I haven’t had a chance to write about it yet but in February I passed a milestone with the blog. Ten years ago (in February 2014) I started Mary Martha Mama.

I started it because I enjoyed reading blogs and I thought it would be fun to write one. My goal has always been to inspire and encourage other women. I chose Mary because my faith is important to me and I want to be a woman who loves to sit at the feet of Jesus and learn. I chose Martha because I love to practice hospitality and create a home that is a welcoming place to break bread with them and share with them.
This has been a place for me to share bits and pieces of my life with you all and I have enjoyed it immensely. Over the years I have tried many, many things. Some things are absolutely awful as I look back on them (there are some pretty bad photos, for example) but honestly I look back on it with love and gratitude. I’m thankful that I’ve had this place to learn and grow in a lot of things.

My life has changed so much over the past 10 years. When I started this blog I had just had my second son and I was coming out of postpartum depression. I was also just beginning my 30s when I started the blog and now I find myself beginning my 40s. The blog gave me a creative outlet as well as an income source that allowed me to stay home with my sons and work part-time.

Thank you for being here, for any of you who have been here reading for any amount of time. I hope that something I’ve shared has inspired or encouraged you in some way, whether it be in your faith, or with crafting, or in your journey in motherhood. It’s been a privilege to be able to share with you for 10 years.
