Amazing Winter Getaway in Ohio for Family Fun

I received a media rate for my family’s stay at the Comfort Inn Splash Harbor.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at the Comfort Inn Splash Harbor in Bellville, Ohio.  We were looking into somewhere to go for a winter getaway in Ohio recently when I stumbled across the Comfort Inn Splash Harbor and I’m so excited that we got the chance to check it out because it was so much fun!

Located about an hour from Akron and an hour and a half from Cleveland it’s perfectly located for a quick overnight trip, perfect for a winter getaway in Ohio.

So what did we love about it?

The Indoor Water Park

Well, let’s start with the obvious- the indoor waterpark is amazing!  I loved this so much because it was the perfect size for our family.  We have a 5 year old and 7 year old and the bigger waterparks are honestly just too big for them at this age because they have no interest in doing a ton of really tall slides.  But the Comfort Inn Splash Harbor is perfect for families with kids like ours because it has so many different things that kids their ages can do!

There’s a shallow kiddie pool for the littlest ones, a fun slide, basketball hoops and balls, a starfish that they can climb on, a family hot tub, and a super fun splash area. We really enjoyed playing in all the different areas and felt like the indoor water park was the perfect size for our family. My kids especially loved playing basketball in the pool and running around the splash area.

There are tables and chairs all around the pool where you can take a break or enjoy a snack with your family.  There’s also plenty of clean towels so there’s no need to bring your own.  The pool staff was incredibly friendly and made sure the area was clean and towels were well stocked.For adults there is also an adult’s only hot tub area which is nice for relaxing.The entire water park has a fun tropical harbor theme that is cute.  I love good theming because it really does make me feel like I’ve escaped to somewhere else.

The water park is located in the middle of the hotel and is centrally located to all of the rooms.

The Rooms

Speaking of our room, it was very clean and comfortable.

The Food

The location of the hotel is also very nice.  Right next door there is a mini-golf as well as the fantastic Der Dutchman restaurant.  We ate at the restaurant for lunch and it was such a wonderful, comforting meal.

For breakfast we enjoyed the complimentary hot breakfast that the Comfort Inn Splash Harbor provides.  There was plenty of choice for all of us with eggs, sausages, sausage gravy, yogurt, pastries, Belgian waffles, fruit, and more.

We thoroughly enjoyed our little getaway to the Comfort Inn Splash Harbor and would highly recommend it to families in the area looking for a winter getaway in Ohio.  On chilly days it’s nice to be able to escape to the indoor water park and feel like you are somewhere more tropical.
