It’s Friday and I’m linking up with the lovely ladies of Five on Friday again. Don’t forget to check out a. liz adventures, carolinacharm, hello! happiness, the good life blog, and all the other lovely bloggers linking up. This week is a special edition of Five on Friday. We are all joining together to send some love and prayers to the Fish family and their little boy Teddy as well as to bring awareness to Menkes syndrome. You can read all about their courageous journey here thanks to Alex, a family friend. I had never heard of Menkes syndrome before and so this has been a learning experience for me and my heart goes out to the Fish Family. I can’t imagine what I would do if I knew I had very little time with my baby boys. Please pray for them and if you feel so moved there is a website where you can give to help them with the medical bills.
1. #Team Teddy
My younger son is a couple months younger than Teddy and has the same sweatshirt that Teddy is wearing in the picture below. I can’t even imagine being in their shoes. My heart breaks in reading through the details of what the Fish family is going through and I am thankful to be able to be a teeny little part of something that will help bring awareness to something that causes such suffering.
2. Running Shoes
Spring will be here soon (hopefully) and I can’t wait to get out and do daily runs and walks with the boys. The elliptical has its place, but working out in the basement is boring. That being said, I need some new running shoes. As soon as I get a chance I’m hoping to head over to the local Second Sole to get a new pair.
3. Valentines Day Through the Eyes of a Child
We’ve had a lot of fun with our older son lately with holidays. This is the first year he’s really been old enough to get into holidays and the anticipation of them. It has been a joy to introduce each holiday to him and to be able to see them through his eyes. He has certainly gotten into the candy that comes along with Valentines Day and all the Valentines themed books we have gotten from the library.
4. Valentines Gifts from Memaw
My mom sent the boys this adorable box filled with Valentines goodies. She really makes the holidays special for them and I really appreciate that.
5. Date Night!
My husband and I are so looking forward to our Valentines Day date this weekend! So maybe the food won’t be quite as fancy as in the photo below (which is from our honeymoon) but it will be a nice, quiet meal during which we don’t have to try to entertain our two little guys. I am going to relish eating nice and slowly while having a leisurely conversation.
Hope you have fantastic Valentines Day!
