Friday Favorites

Happy Friday to you all!  Are you looking forward to the weekend like I am?  Here’s what I’m favoring this week.

1. Back to School Shopping

Last Saturday we took advantage of the Tax Holiday and I took my son shopping for his preschool supply list and some clothes.  It’s only preschool but it still had me tearing up a little wondering where the time had gone as I bought my baby such grown up things like a binder.

2. Summit for Kids

Northeast Ohio locals, don’t forget about the Summit for Kids from 10-4 at the John S. Knight Center in Akron tomorrow.  Basically it’s a big expo where community groups and companies come out and inform people of their services and give out freebies.  There’s also usually a few characters walking around, like Abby Cadabby and Spiderman.  We love going because we enjoy the walking around and getting all the freebies.  People give out everything from school supplies to kids books to candy.  I think because of events like this I have not purchased a pen or sticky notes in years.

3. BBQ

Our church’s annual Chicken BBQ is tomorrow as well and it’s such a fun event.  Today I’m baking my pies in preparation.  Tomorrow we will take our older son over to help shuck corn for the first time.

4. Grandma Ople’s Apple Pie

This is the apple pie recipe that I use.  Personally, I’m not a pie person but everyone I know raves about it.  So if your you like apple pie, this is a recipe that you need to try.

5. Lucky

We’ve had him for over 3 months now!  Having a dog is a lot of work but I love him!  Plus, I’m finding that needing to exercise him is making me walk more so there’s that little heath bonus.
