Happy 2016!!! And Happy Friday, of course. Here’s 5 things I’m loving this week:
[one] Sewing 101
This week I kicked off a new series on the blog- Sewing 101! In this series I hope to share one lesson each week. This past week’s lesson was Lesson 1: Supplies. On Monday I will be sharing a lesson to help you get to know your sewing machine. My goal in this series is to help demystify the whole sewing process and help those who want to try but have been too intimidated to get started.
I was wondering the last of the Christmas clearance section and stumbled across these beauties. At $0.10 a piece I snatched up a bunch. I’m thinking of using some for a craft storage unit I’ve been scheming up in my head. I already got something else from the clearance section for Valentines gifts but these would be good for that too.
A friend recommended this Youtube Channel and I’m loving it! Winter can be rough for getting the boys’ energy out and these fun little workouts are engaging and a good length.
[four] Bat Cave
Speaking of the kiddos… this Imaginext Batcave has proven to be the most popular of all the Christmas gifts for the 5 year old. Actually, both boys were fighting over it for the first few days. There was so much fighting over the Batman action figure that comes with it that we got another one because we were visiting my parents at the time and it was raining non-stop so the boys were only playing inside and I could not stand all the fighting.
[five] Llama Llama Red Pajama
Llama Llama Red Pajama is the 2 year old’s favorite Christmas present. He calls it “Mama mama” and I am totally biased but it’s adorable. We have been reading it so much that I have requested several more from the library and ordered Llama Llama I Love You to give to him for Valentine’s Day.
I know it is hard getting back into the groove but I hope you all had a great week!

Thanks for the book recommendation! Our baby is 8 months and we LOVE to read to her! I have heard so much about the benefits of starting to read to them early. Love the red buckets, so cute for storing those little knick-knacks. Happy Friday!

I totally recommend the Llama books for babies because of all the rhyming and cute pictures! I also recommend "and the bear snores on" for the same reason. My boys loved both from an early age.

What a great find with the buckets! I can't wait to see what you do with them! I'm a sewer too! My mom and I constantly have projects going and I love that my kids get to see our projects and all that goes into them. Such a lost art :) Have a great weekend!

Oh me me me! I want to learn to sew! That sounds really fun. I have a sewing machine but am so intimidated by it. I've made a few things, but my husband always has to thread it for me because I ALWAYS seem to mess it up.

Threading can seem complicated especially if you don't do it for a while between projects so I totally get what you are saying. Hopefully Monday's post will help though. I've got an awesome cheat sheet for getting your machine set up.
