It’s been a while, but I’m back with my Friday Five. Here’s a peak into 5 things that speak to my life these days:
1. Healthy Mama Link-up
This coming Wednesday I’m hosting the first Healthy Mama Link-up! I’ll be sharing some of my experience trying to lose the last of my baby weight as well as giving you a chance to link up your posts as well. Please come and share your stories about your weight loss progress, healthy recipes, and forays into the world of fitness… basically anything about getting healthy! And no, you don’t have to be a mama to link up. The link-up should be live by 8:00 am Wednesday morning.
2. New Sofa & Love Seat
Our old sofa was in awful shape, so we recently purchased the Denilli sofa and love seat from Ashley Furniture. We have a 3 1/2 year old and a 1 year old so we wanted to pick out something we liked without spending very much money because little boys are not kind to sofas (at least mine aren’t). So far we love them. And yes, I did take the tags off. I was just so excited that I snapped this photo to send to my husband before I took them off. I also need to finish the end table I’m painting that will go in that corner, so try to ignore that gaping hole.
3. Foxy Fabric
Speaking of the couch, I’m hoping to make some new pillow covers for the pillows that came with it, along with a few others. I don’t hate the pillows that came with it, they just don’t go with the other colors I have going on in the room. So, I need to go fabric shopping. I’m also obsessed with this fox fabric I shared on Instagram. I used it to make some burp cloths for a friend who had a baby recently, but I would love to work it into something in my house. It doesn’t really go here, but any chance I can work it in somewhere?
4. Pre Pre School
As I explained last week, I’m not quite ready to send my 3 1/2 year old off to school yet, but I wanted to have a little direction in our informal “school” time that we have each morning. I’ve been using Confessions of a Homeschooler’s Letter of the Week curriculum and we’re having a blast! She’s got some great activity ideas and we supplement with books from the library according to each week’s theme. Here’s a couple shots from last week, C is for Caterpillar.
Y’all. I have been working so hard on making over our deck. It was in rough shape. I’ve been powerwashing, stripping, powerwashing, sanding, and staining the deck. It is so much work! But hopefully by this time next week I’ll be able to say that it’s all done.
Today I’m linking up with September Farm and The Farmer’s Wife!
I’m also linking up with A Little Bit of Everything, Momfessionals, and Grace and Love.
