I can’t believe it’s Friday already! That’s a holiday week for you. Having the long weekend with my husband around was so nice. I’m excited that the weekend is here again. Here’s what’s happening in our neck of the woods:
1. Daniel Plan Day 20
Today is day 20 for me on The Daniel Plan. As I explained before, I haven’t followed the plan all 20 days, but even on the days that I have not followed the plan I have still been very mindful about the choices that I have made. Minus the day that I ate a bunch of chocolate chip cookies. Hormones. Need I say more? Days off aside, I have lost a total of 9.2 pounds. I’m now only 6.2 pounds away from my pre-pregnancy weight. So onward I go!
My sweet husband got us a membership to the closest zoo to us, the Akron Zoo. We went for the first time last week and the boys loved it. A was even more excited when I told him that we could come back many, many times. He is especially into the jellyfish exhibit. The kids loves anything relating to the ocean. I attribute this to his love of the Octonauts. We’ll be heading there again this weekend.
With the weather getting better and better I’m able to walk with the boys almost every day. I love getting out and getting some fresh air. My son loves exploring wherever we walk and looking for “creatures”.
4. Memorial Weekend Fun
We busted out the kiddie pool and sprinkler this weekend. The weather has been great and our 3 year old son is more than excited to begin this season’s water fun.
I snapped this picture as we were running out the door to a cook out on Monday so this picture does not do my salad justice, but it was gorgeous and delicious. It’s too early for using tomatoes and basil from our garden, but I keep fresh mozzarella around all summer long so that we can throw this salad together any time. Since Memorial Day unofficially kicks off summer (in my book, anyway) I felt it fitting to bring this summer dish to the cookout.
I’m linking up again with the lovely ladies of Five on Friday. Don’t forget to check out a. liz adventures, carolinacharm, hello! happiness, the good life blog, and all the other bloggers linking up.

Everyone's body reacts to things differently, but doing The Daniel Plan and increasing my activity has really worked well for me.

I'm totally oversimplifying it, but basically the Daniel plan involves eating whole foods, nothing artificial, no sugar, and your plate should be half non-starchy veggies, a quarter protein, a quarter starchy veggies, and a small side of low-glycemic fruit. If you are interested in more detail, I wrote a more thorough post here.

They are! He loves them so much that he told me he wanted to get them out and pet them. I had to explain a little more about jellies after he said that!

Caprese salad is my favorite thing to eat in the summer. It's the perfect combination of flavors!
When you're done with the Daniel plan, I would love to hear your thoughts on it. I've heard a ton about it, but I don't think I know any people who have gone through the plan before.
Have a great weekend!
