It’s Friday! Which means I am in full-on crazy mama party planning mode. My husband keeps reminding me it’s only for a 2 year old who is quite easy to please… I keep trying to remind myself of that but somehow I’m starting to stress that I won’t get it all done. I’m not sure how that can be because I don’t feel like I am doing much for it, but I guess all the little things add up. Anyway, without further ado, here are my favorites this Friday:
1. Space Jam
We watched this on Wednesday night and all I can say is SO MUCH FUN! I have a soft spot in my heart for 90s movies. Each one is a trip back to my childhood.
We finally got around to some Serious weeding, hedging, and yard clean up the past few weeks. This week we put down the mulch and I feel like the yard is almost done! Too bad we live in Ohio and Fall’s almost here which means winter is practically upon us. But better late than never? And as I’m typing this I realize that I have not taken any pictures of it. You’re just gonna have to trust me and my aching back- there is mulch out there.
3. We’ve Got Ears!
My youngest is turning 2… cue the waterworks! He adores Mickey Mouse so I’ve been in full part prep mode for tomorrow’s festivities. I’m making Mickey ears for all the boys and Minnie ears for all the girls. So far I have made half the ears. And so far I’ve managed to not burn my fingers too badly with the hot glue. It’s practically a miracle.
4. Remembering the Miracle of Motherhood
“This role as a mom is funny like that; all the joy and happiness twisted with the hard and painful.“-Lindsay Stevenson Tired mamas, this is a great read.
5. My Baby
He’s 2. And I am savoring every little bit of every fading baby-ness that he has left in him. I don’t want to forget his bouncy run or his chubby little feet. Pretty soon he will be strong and slender and I want to remember him soft and pudgy. Growth is such a wonderful thing and I want to celebrate and embrace the boy that he is becoming but oh am I going to enjoy every bit of baby that is still in him while it lasts. Even with some hard, hard days these two years have passed in a blink. Life really is a vapor.
Hope you all have a great weekend.

I feel the same way about the 80's movies of my childhood. Baby Boom, Steel Magnolias, Beaches. I can't watch any of those movies without feeling like I'm 11-years-old again.
