Happy Friday! It’s hard for me to believe that we are so far into July already! I feel like we just started our summer but we’ve been so busy that the time really has flown. Here’s what I’m loving this week:
Pool Days
We have been able to spend a number of days at the local pool and getting a summer pool pass for our family may be my favorite decision of all of summer.
Daniel
We recently went through a series on the book of Daniel and I loved it! This is such an iconic and well known book but I learned so much this go around. Learning about how Daniel and his friends lived in exile was so helpful for reframing how I think about living my own life. Each week a prayer was shared and I jotted it down in my notes because I loved it. I need to actually write it out nicely and keep it as a bookmark or something.
Hiking
One of my goals for this summer has been to get out and explore more of the local parks and trails while the weather is nice. So far we have hit up a few favorite trails that we haven’t been to in a while but this coming week I want to try some new ones as well.
Washington, D.C.
We went to Washington, D.C. on vacation a couple of weeks ago. We had a great time, but it was terribly hot. We did some of the Smithsonians, monuments, Arlington Cemetery, and the National Zoos. Overall the boys seemed to have a really great time and the pandas were a favorite for sure. There is so much that we did not get to do yet so we will be returning in the future for sure.
Jurassic World Dominion
I really like Jurassic Park movies for some reason. They are not what I’d call classic cinema but they are a good time. I thought this one was great and especially loved having the original cast members back. We took our tween son to see it but with any movie I suggest reading up on it or previewing it before your kids see it and this is no exception. That way you can decide if it works for your kiddo or not.
I hope you have a great week and enjoy some more great summer weather!
