Things are heavy and strange right now but I’m trying to focus on the positives and so I want to share what I’m loving right now.
Seeing My Kids’ Hearts
The kids were bored the other day so I suggested they take their chalk and draw on the fence that surrounds our yard. I checked back on them a while later and my older son had drawn this. I love that he has a song of hope rolling around in his head right now.
New Purse
My birthday is this week and my family has spoiled me with some presents. My mom got me a purse (it’s the Fossil Maya Small Hobo) and I love it, even if I have nowhere to go and wear it. One day I’ll get to take it for a spin.
Hikes
With not going anywhere right now the one thing that really lifts my spirits right now is taking the boys out on a hike. Somehow the fresh air helps me feel more free.
Board Games
I think we are going to play through every game in our house multiple times before this is all over. One of my boys’ current faves is Ticket to Ride First Journey. I’d say it’s perfect for kids 6-11. Not sure what it says about my intelligence but I vastly prefer this version to the regular grown-up Ticket to Ride. I think it’s because I don’t have to think as much and I can relax.
Cinnamon Rolls
I used my bread machine to make some cinnamon rolls using this recipe and oh my were they good.

That chalk art is so sweet! And I'm loving your new purse! I really need to find a park around me that is still open so I can start going for walks. My neighborhood will do if it has to but it's not really set up for walking.

Definitely find a park with a trail or two if you can! But be sure to call or check the website to see if they closed. Some of the ones near us have closed.
