Friday Favorites

Happy Friday! Well, people, winter is basically here in Ohio. We had a mix of snow and rain yesterday and with the time change it gets dark awfully early so yeah it feels like winter has begun. Time to focus on the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays and enjoy this time as much as possible. Here’s what I’m loving this week:

Christmas Crafting

I made some Christmas ornaments and it makes me excited to decorate for Christmas this year! And don’t let these pictures fool you, our tree is not up yet- this is an evergreen out in the front yard. Yes, yes, I am that crazy blogging lady who takes weird picture in her front yard.

shopDisney Friends & Family Sale

We love Disney quite a bit and I get so excited when they have the Friends and Family Sales because right now you can take 25% off sitewide at shopDisney.com with the code DISNEYPAL until Monday night. I have my eye on a few things like these Mickey Mouse and Friends Holiday PJ PALS pajamas (for my younger son), these Chewbacca Holiday Pajamas (for my older son), this Disney Parks Poster Calendar 2020 (for me), this Holiday Tumbler (also for me).

Walking & Dieting

About a month ago I changed things up diet-wise. I’ve been pretty quiet about it on here but I’m sure I’ll share more soon. I had a long talk with my doctor in September and she made some recommendations for me. Let’s just say my metabolism has slowed down and I’m working on doing something different to get my extra pounds off. I cut out all complex carbs and sugar- no bread, no pasta, no desserts. I’m also trying to meet my step goal every day and I’m trying to add back in Pilates. My plan is to add in Pilates again soon. I don’t love love it but slowly it’s working and it feels good to have some direction.

Christmas Decor Planning

So last year my Granny passed away and my Papa gave me a box of ornaments that my Granny wanted me to have. They are these really pretty vintage, Shiny Brite Ornaments. I tucked them away and didn’t do anything with them last Christmas because I couldn’t figure out how I wanted to display them. This year I’m gonna get a smaller tree and make a special display. But I can’t decide what kind of tree, so help me out here- Regular tree? Flocked tree? White tree? Sparkly silver tinsel tree?

Verse of the Week

My favorite verse from my Bible reading this week was Acts 12:24: “But the word of God continued to spread and flourish.” I’m learning so much in studying the book of Acts and seeing how the early church spread. Our theme this year for BSF is “Unstoppable God” and He really is unstoppable, even in the worst of circumstances.

I hope you all have a great weekend! Be sure to weigh in on my tree question in the comments below!

I like the flocked tree; I think the colorful ornaments would pop nicely against that. We had a mix of snow today too; luckily nothing stuck to the ground-- yet. I know it's just a matter of time but I am not yet ready for winter.

Thank you so much for your input on the tree! I think they might pop with the flocked tree too. It's sort of the best of a more natural looking tree but with the contrast of the totally white tree. We got a dusting this morning too... totally not ready for winter yet either.
