Friday Favorites

Happy Friday!  It’s been a while since I’ve done one of these or any other post.  The last week of May was busy with end of school year events and things to do, then we had VBS at church, and then we all got sick- both boys had eye infections, then we all got colds.  And we are still stick.  I’m so tired of coughing.  My husband, who has been sick a little longer than I have went into the doctor after being sick almost 2 weeks and they basically said it’s just a really bad cold virus.  We cannot stop coughing.  Initially I had a really bad sore throat (almost as bad as when I had strep in December!) but thankfully that’s now gone.  Now if only I could stop coughing.  So with being busy repeatedly sanitizing our home in hopes of getting rid or all these germs and trying to rest I have been completely unproductive.  Nothing but survival going on here.  Here’s what I’ve been loving this week:

[one] Underwear

Yup, I’m talking about my underwear.  I recently bought some new underwear and I am loving them!  They are the Fruit of the Loom Seamless Bikinisthe Fruit of the Loom Seamless Bikinis and they are amazing.  They are seamless, they stay where they should, they are comfortable, and they are inexpensive.  They come in a pack of 6 and I liked them so much that I got a second pack.

[two] Summer Reading

With school now out and all the illness we have been doing a whole lot of reading.  The boys are also working toawrd winning some library summer reading program prizes.  My older son is into The Little House series and we’ve been plowing through that chapter by chapter.  And if it has a dog in it my younger son is all about it.  I’m sad we are too sick to swim but snuggly reading sessions on the couch are pretty sweet too.

[three] Modeling Clay

The boys have also gotten in some quality arts and crafts time lately.  The modeling clay has been a big hit.  They insisted I take pictures of their snakes.

[four] End of an Era

We sold our last stroller this week.  We have been purging and cleaning out clutter for months and this week we had someone buy our jogging stroller.  I feel a little nostalgic about it… I logged a lot of miles with my babies in that.  And it was the last of our strollers that we still had.  But with our younger son now going on 4 and no longer fitting in any stroller or wanting to go in one really it was time.  And along with the nostalgia comes a feeling of freedom!  No more stroller!  The car is going to feel so much easier to pack for vacation.

[five] Anniversary!

Eight years of marriage!  And we are going to summon the energy to go out tonight to celebrate.

I hope you get to rest and celebrate a little bit this weekend too!

I enjoyed your post today. I am a Grandma and I am also participating in our Regional Library's Summer Reading Program. It is so great and I feel like I am doing something for myself. Lately, I have been reading the Karen Kingsbury books that I had not read yet. Plus she has a new one that just came out and I have put it on hold.

Keep up the Memory making times with your family and I hope you all get well soon.

Aww, thanks for the well wishes Lynn! I love Karen Kingsbury. I may need to log into the library page to request that new one. Have a great weekend!
