{Five on Friday}

I love Friday.  The weekend is almost here, full of all its promise and hope.  I hope you’re having a great Friday.  Here’s 5 things I’m loving this week.

1. New Series

On Monday I’m kicking off a new blog series, Beating the Baby Blues.  I’ll be sharing my own story of how I dealt with Postpartum Depression and will continue the series by featuring other women’s stories as well.  If you would like to share your story of surviving Postpartum Depression or the Baby Blues, I would love to feature you as a part of my series.  Please email me at cat  @  marymarthamama  .com.  I’m hoping that this series will help women who may be struggling as they walk through those early days of motherhood.

Our vegetable garden is in!  I’m excited.  And yes, this picture does make it look like our garden is super shady, but it was late in the afternoon by the time we my husband got the garden in.  We’ve had our garden in this spot for the past two years and it gets plenty of sun.

3. Candy Bar

No, I’m not talking about Snickers or Three Muskateers… I’m talking about a bar full of candy!  This picture only shows about half of the candy.  Excuse the poor iphone photo, I was at a wedding shower on Sunday and I tried to snap a quick photo of the candy bar before I dug in.  Yes, yes, I did partake.  No, that is not part of The Daniel Plan.  If you’ve been following along at all, you know that I seem to not be doing well with following the plan on weekends.  Don’t worry, I’m still doing it most of the time.  I’ll fill you in on my progress on Tuesday.

4. Running

Because really, don’t candy and running go hand in hand?  I’ve been slowly working my way back into running.  Right now I’m running with intervals of walking mixed in.  I’m doing the Couch to 5K program and using their app to make it ridiculously easy to keep track of each interval.  Yesterday I even got my 3 year old to do it with me and he did an awesome job keeping up through the entire run/walk.

5. This Picture

I was thinking I might end this post with some great inspirational quote or Scripture, but when I opened my Pinterest boards to find one, I saw this and remembered how much it made me laugh when I first pinned it.  I’m such a dork, but it still makes me smile.  Maybe because I have seen that look on my son’s face a time or two.  I hope it makes you smile as well! (Although really I should be horrified that that kid is clearly too young to be safe on a bunk bed, but we’ll assume they were just posing for the picture and that a parent was near enough to make it safe.  You really know how much of a dork I am now that I have put out my little bunk bed safety PSA.)

My boys have a bunk bed, and they have done some crazy things on it!

I am sure! We didn't have bunk beds growing up, but we stayed at a cottage in the summer that had them and we LOVED playing on them.

Hey! Good for you for getting back into running, starting is ALWAYS the hardest part! I did the couch to 5K program, it's great! You'll be doing long distance runs before you know it!

Thanks for stopping by All Of Life's Little Adventures :)
